Rob Passaretti

My passion for Industrial Design started as a child, although at the time I referred to myself as an Inventor. I emulated my favorite TV inventors like Professor Philip Brainard, Wayne Szalinski, and Dr. Emmett Brown. Even though the inventions I made would not always work, they never failed to bring smiles to the faces around me. Visiting Walt Disney World was a major inspiration to me growing up. I was enamored with how the Disney Imagineers could bring life and magic to inanimate objects. I met with an Imagineer and was advised that if my goal was to become an Imagineer, I should study Industrial Design in college. So that's what I did.

As I started learning about Industrial Design and refining my skills, I began to fall in love with product design. Through the creation of countless design iterations, models, sketches, debates with classmates over ergonomics and user testing, my passion flourished. I never realized the amount of thought that went into designing even the simplest of products. I saw how the products we designed could improve lives and make a real difference to the public. From that point on I knew I wanted to be an Industrial Designer.

Over ten years has passed since my initial meeting with the Imagineer. Since then, I have won awards for designs that make the roads safer, had products featured in magazines, my designs have been worn on people’s wrists and hung in their closets, and have been awarded multiple patents for technologies I personally developed. I have made many friends and aided others in achieving their dreams, as the Imagineer initially did for me.

My passion is to design products that spark joy, inspire others, foster confidence, bring people together and improve the way in which we live. If a product can do even one of these things, I’ve done my job well.

NeverFall Shower Rod

The Neverfall Shower Rod is a first of its kind tension rod. This rod gets its strength from a patented, dual cam lock system. These cams convert downward pressure into outward tension. This means the more you pull down on the rod the stronger it gets. This results in the shower rod being able to hold up to 50 lbs of weight and requires no screws or drilling into the wall surface.

Triv-Mitt

The Triv-Mit is a combination, oven mitt and trivet. When laid flat as a trivet it has suction cups that stick to the bottom of the hot pan or pot. This allows the Triv-Mitt to go wherever the pot goes without the user needing to worry. The Triv-Mitt also can be folded in half and used as an oven mitt. Its sturdy high-grade silicone construction is completely heat resistant.

FPV Freestyle Drone

Building and flying drones is a hobby of mine. This technical drawing sample details the construction of one of my FPV Freestyle Drone designs. It was created to illustrate how I would communicate this design to a potential manufacturer.

Showroom Design:

As Industrial Designers we dedicate months to the design of new products. We are then faced with the challenge of marketing and selling our products to potential buyers. Showroom design elegantly showcases a product’s function and use in a clear and organized way.

I’ve designed for the following brands.
